If you haven't seen it yet, do yourself a favor and see Star Trek. I know I'm late to the party on this one, but it was awesome.
I have taken to calling it "Star Trek: Why Spock is Awesome". I believe this is totally appropriate.

J.J. Abrams may not be a "Trek" guy, but he certainly understood the concept of slashfic and provided an endless string of new possibilities while still tossing raw meat at the feet of the old slash fandom. Come on, Spock choking Kirk? FABULOUS!

ReplyDeleteIt was like J.J. Abrams took all of the old Star Trek mythos, said, "Yeah I can only work with a fraction of this," cheerfully disregarded everything he didn't like, and just ran with what he did. At times I was a bit freaked out with what he did with Spock, but Zack Quinto did a good job. And they got the eyebrows under control, thankfully.
